Jon`s Journey into percussion began in the late 80`s since when he has explored and experimented with instruments and concepts from various musical forms particularly from the North Indian, Middle Eastern and West African rhythmical traditions.

Since the mid 1990s Jon has concentrated mainly on Indian tabla which he has studied both in the Uk and in India with several teachers including Harjinder Singh Matharu, Kailesh Nishad and Shivanand Bandari.
